Ravi Bopara might have to see the first game in the World Cup against Australia from the sidelines. He is all set to be dropped because of his shaky form with the bat.
All through the tri series, Bopara struggled to buy runs for himself and he was not used much as a bowler either by the captain Eoin Morgan.
England has been playing with 5 bowlers on the Australia tour with Moeen Ali almost being the specialist off spinner for them now.
Bopara has been in mainly as a batsman and his numbers with the bat don’t warrant him a place in the playing XI.

Ravi Bopara was sent to bat at 7 in England’s warm up match against Australian Prime Minister’s XI played at Manuka Oval earlier today.
It seems the England team management reckons he can do his best for the team at that position only.
On Sri Lanka tour, Bopara had batted higher up the order in a few games, at 5 sometimes or at 6.
So, it was supposed that the management had found a new role for him, but, it does not seem to be the case now.
